Maison d'hôtes Les Mijanes
Between Montségur’s castle and the Fontestorbes’ intermittent fountain, the hamlet of Mijanes is situated 650 m above sea level in a clearing at the end of a small road. The house is an old stone farmhouse, restored in order to preserve the built’s authenticity. At street-level, the old hay barn completely open to the south, gave the opportunity to develop a large day room (60 m²) with separate entrance and fireplace. Very bright, it opens onto a gallery with large sliding doors.
The two large rooms (30 m² each) are in continuity (private water rooms and toilets for each). The wall of the rooms’ corridor is fully dressed with a bark and natural pigment tapa from New Caledonia. The furniture is a mix of contemporary and family furnitures ; numerous engravings on the theme of prehistoric caves.
Two hectares of meadows surround the house. Around, the forest offers beautiful walks. A network of well marked hiking trails was made throughout the Olmes’ Country. To relax after hiking or sightseeing, the pool is available. You can also enjoy the splendor of the seasons: the flowering fruits in spring, forest’s bright colors in autumn, and the sunset over the two equinoxes Montsegur’s pog.
